Lately it has been hot discussion about guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani file legal action on Coldplay, claiming that the band song Viva LaVida Plagiarising Joe’s “If I COuld Fly” riffs. I am not really surprised about that because I found some video showing Coldplays’ songs similar to other artist like 311 or alizee.
While watching some videos from youtube about some similar songs, I was sumbled upon Weezer’s song “Hash Pipe” (I thought it was ‘hush puppies’ at the first time, lol) and in my opinion the song riffs is very similar to one song performed by Indonesian legend of rock: God Bless, titled “kehidupan” that was released in 1988 from thir album ‘Semut Hitam” (CMIIW). You can compare it yourself.
for better version of Kehidupa you can listen here.
In most cases of music plagiarism I see that the person or band who plagiarise other work is usually more famous than the one thecopy from. It divided public opinion since the band accused of plagiarism take example Coldplay has bigger fans than Joe Satriani and this may cause that Coldplay will settle and win the case although in fact they are guilty. I think that this is so unfair, just because you are more famous does not mean that you can get away from plagirising.

Then, what’s your opinion about my feedback here?
Do you smell plagiarism either?
